The best Scottish unsigned band I have ever came across – Elaine Lamb of Oban FM
Sianar show that Scotland can produce smooth rock to rival the US – John Fell of Camglen Radio
A chance meeting on a Facebook music gear buying and selling page paired together guitarist Kristian Clezy and accomplished singer songwriter James McKay on his return from a recent tour of the US.
Lace it with some low frequency magic from an ex pipe band colleague of Kristian’s, and now bass master general Gav Hynes, and add in the raw talent of recently graduated music students Martin Wardlaw and Duncan McGregor, and the melting pot of talent is almost complete. The metronomic experience of Gavin Mills on guitar seals the bond on the group of 6 brothers that have become Sianar.
Fast forward almost a year, and the band have headlined two dynamite sell out shows at Glasgow’s Classic Grand, and Oran Mor, for the West End Music Festival. The 27th of October is the latest date for the diary, and sees Sianar perform a show at Glasgow’s o2 ABC, with special guests to be confirmed.
March 2017 also saw the release of their epic debut EP ‘Cause & Effect’, produced by legendary Scottish producer Sandy Jones at the Foundry Music Lab in Motherwell.
The band are very proud to present a showcase of their original music, which oozes energy in a modern guitar rock style, and is a fitting testament to the high level of musicianship and song writing hailing from Scotland’s central belt.
You may not have heard the name Sianar as yet, but 2017 is set to change that.
