Anda Union are an amazing 9-piece Mongolian band from Inner Mongolia (Northern China) who have been electrifying audiences all over the world for the past 12 years.
It’s not just the power of their music but the range of moods and styles that take us on a journey from beautiful moving ballads to powerful songs which really rock !
Their latest album Homeland was awarded “Best Album of the Year 2016” by Songlines.
Anda Union have become the cultural icons of Mongolian music; a triumphant, pioneering band they bring together a unique combination of styles from across the grasslands of their homeland, coalescing them into an unbelievably colourful and magisterial sound.
Anda Union have headlined around the world at many world music and mainstream festivals, winning over fans everywhere they play with their expressive and energetic music.
The nine members of Anda Union come from musical families and all trained in their traditional music from childhood.
From their differing ethnic nomadic cultures they unite a wide range of musical instruments and vocal styles in a fusion of which the great Genghis Khan himself would have been proud!
Keenly aware of the threat from climate change to their native grasslands and their age-old Mongolian culture, Anda Union are driven to fight for the survival of this endangered way of life by keeping the essence of their music alive.
